Triboo was founded in 2001 with the creation of Dvd.it, the world's leading home entertainment online store, and in 2004 won the "Il Sole 24 ore" awards as the best e-commerce website in Italy.
In the years that followed, Triboo created a number of new B2C and B2B online stores to operate alongside Dvd.it, namely Factotus, HRW, Cosmetics, Italiansunglasses and Traduciamo.it.
In 2006 Triboo inaugurates www.shop.it that virtually reproduces the off-line hypermarket model, with an across the board selection of all the offers promoted by the group's specialized stores
In 2007 Triboo launches Webchising (www.webchising.it), the first e-commerce franchise service that allows webmasters to instantly create their own customised on-line store and start making a profit on the sales they make; in the first 12 months online, an outstanding 15,000 new virtual stores are opened.
In this same period, Triboo enters the world of brokerage services with a series of vertical comparison motors for: the tourism sector: Europelowcost and Lowcostplanet, the finance sector: Financing the car insurance sector: AssicurazioniAuto.
In 2008 Triboo launches T-Buy, a company that, within just a few months, manages to position itself as a leader in the e-commerce service provider sector, taking over the outsourcing services for the e-commerce business of a number of prestigious clients including Peck, Henkel, Ferrari, Maserati, Lotus, Unieuro and Furla.
In 2005 a series of editorial initiatives were also introduced to work alongside the other online services, among which:
Cellulari, the reference mobile phone website; Ewrite which uses a paid to write model to collect reviews and guides in over 10 European countries.
In 2009 Triboo launches T-Direct, a company providing strategic consulting and marketing performance services, and in just a few months it manages to acquire a range of prestigious clients such as Agos, Donnad, Henkel, Disney, Thinklux, Cartasi, Rusconi Hachette, gaining a position among the main strategic partners of all the most reputed affiliation circuits (Trade Doubler, Zanox, Commission Junction).
In 2009 Triboo acquires a stake in the advertising agency JuiceADV, which has exclusive management of the advertising spaces used by the Group's properties and integrates Triboo’s expertise in the direct marketing industry, offering its clientele a profiled database of over 9 million e-mail contacts.
With the shareholding stake acquired in nascar, Triboo entrusts the creativity, interaction design and graphic development of the network and customer websites to one of the most qualified web agencies in the whole of Italy. Nascar has an outstanding client portfolio including, among others, SNAV, Bridgestone Italy, Original Marines, the Wholesale & Development Centre in Nola, the Sanremo Casino, and the Crowne Plaza.
In 2010, Triboo and One Italy join forces to create a new online advertising business which proposes integrated services and two product lines: brand awareness with Leonardo ADV and direct response with Juice adv. A brand new sales and marketing team is formed with over thirty professionals with the objective of consolidating the growth seen in the performance sector (+300% in 2009) and the brand awareness sector (boosting Leonardo’s reputation, which now ranks among the top 5 Italian portals).
In the same year, Triboo finalises a number of incubation contracts with some of the most promising realities on the web: the start-up of SOSTariffe.com (comparison site for utilities services), Scuolazoo.com (the renowned promoter site of one of the most dynamic student communities in Italy), and the start-up of Youniversal Media, where Triboo acts as an accelerator vehicle for the conception of the first Search Marketing agency addressing Italian and foreign professional publishers.
